Description:
The Model R1L-E is a portable ohmmeter designed to measure low values of resistance, from one micro-ohm to 20 ohms. Four point measurements are utilized in order to eliminate any errors caused by the resistance of the leads. Two leads are used to pass a regulated constant DC current through the resistance under test, and two separate leads are used to measure the resulting voltage drop accross this resistance. By use of Ohm's Law (Voltage = Current X Resistance), the resistance is automatically calculated and displayed digitally.
The current is well regulated and is constant despite large changes in the unknown resistance and/or the resistance of the connecting leads. If the series resistance is higher than the selected range, the display shows a "1" follow by three blanks.
