Vintage 50s Amber Toned Swirl Lucite Graduated Hand Knotted Necklace

Description

This is a very attractive necklace with the blends of warm yellows and light speckles/swirls of brown. Every bead is unique and have no seams. It measures 13” when closed and 26” open. All the beads vary a little in size. The biggest bead is 23.8 mm down to 11.9 mm. Good condition with light age wear. Beads seem to test to be bakelite with Simichrome, q-tip is pictured and a dirty yellow. But, the hot water test, and it was hot and 30 seconds, didn’t produce a definitive smell. Because of the bubbles in the beads, and from the exhaustive research, I have done, I believe it to be vintage lucite. The beads are strung on a yellow silk(?) cord and there is a knot between each one. The total weight of the necklace is 2.6 ounces or 73.71 grams.
