    Description

    Lovely octagonal-shaped on black with cameo insert.  I believe that this is Bakelite and perhaps celluloid in the cameo.  I took this piece to a jeweler and he told me it was Bakelite and that it was very old.  The pendant is display with a black cord, which is only for photography purposes.  I would suggest a silk rope or gold chain.
    This is a large pendant, measuring 2.75" to the top of the metal hook and 2 3/8" across.  It appears that the cameo inset has been glued onto the item, and there is some evidence of glue around one side.
